1975: Fished the West Coast grounds from Fleetwood. Fitted for pair trawling. Returned to Grimsby and fished the Arctic grounds from there.
1978: Transferred to Lowestoft.
1985: Registered as LO339.
1986: Sold to Danish owners as DROT.
1990: Returned to UK ownership (George Craig & Sons Ltd, Aberdeen) and renamed GRAMPIAN DEE and converted to a safety vessel.
2007: Sold ?
2009: As FENDERCARE INDEPENDENCE LO336, Fendercare Marine Ltd, Norwich under Sierra Leone flag.

History

1960: From Dublin to Fleetwood as LOCH LEIN D411.
1963: Bought by Walter (Fly) Holmes.
1965: Bought by Walter Holmes Jnr and converted to stern trawling. The wheelhouse was moved to the bow. Moved to New Zealand and registered at Auckland in November of 1965.
1967: Re-engined.
1976: Vessel converted as a barge towing tug by Rope Shipping Co Ltd.
1988: Re-engined with a V16 GM 2 stroke, replacing her Lister Blackstone. That and other tip hamper issues caused the vessel to become unstable. In moderately rough conditions and with 5 men on board, including a fisheries inspector, the vessel capsized and sank. The men escaped in a liferaft and drifted 200 miles in 5 days before their last flare was spotted by a naval helicopter crew.

1962: Employed as ORSV.
1986: Sold to Spanish owners and reverted to commercial fishing. She was sold in an en bloc deal to Parafleet Ltd, Plymouth (Cmaine (Shipping) Ltd, Stonehouse, Plymouth, managers) (Joseph O’Connor, J.L.J. Couceiro & Others) along with the following vessels.

BOSTON ARGOSY
BOSTON COMET
BOSTON HORNET
BOSTON WHIRLWIND.

November 1986: They left Lowestoft for Plymouth for La Corunna. The vessels were refitted in Spain and reverted to their original UK PRNs ie LT364, LT183, LT148, LT173 & LT453 respectively.
1994: Reported to have sunk in port.

1967: Sold to James Wilson, Fleetwood along with motor trawler FAIRY COVE (HL10). Hazael Fishing Co Ltd operators/managers. Registered at Lowestoft as BRENDA WILSON (LT80).
09.09.1970: Sold to Hubert Jones (Trawlers) Ltd, Milford Haven & Swansea.
11.10.1970: Arrived Milford from Fleetwood. Frank Squires, Milford appointed manager.
1974: Laid up at Milford along with other trawlers to bring pressure on the Union for the crews to accept a pay cut the owners also seeking short term Government subsidy to cover increased costs.
05.04.1974: Sailed for fishing grounds (Sk. Vaughan) under existing pay structure.
04.1976: Laid up at Milford due to increased running costs particularly bunker oil.
02.1977: Re-activated.
23.02.1955: Fishing Cardigan Bay grounds (Sk Rees Evans). Cook/deckhand Roy J. Thomas collapsed and died. Put into Fishguard to land the body.
10.04.1978: Company in liquidation.
02.06.1978: Sold at auction along with GEORGINA WILSON (HL10) and JADE STAR GYPSY (LT53) to Robert Wright, Milford Haven for the sum of £11,225. Registered owner Rawlings & Co Ltd, Milford Haven.
1987: Reported sold for breaking up.

1956: Built as ACADIA SNOWBIRD in Aberdeen for Boston Deep Sea Fisheries.
Boston Deep Sea Fisheries sent her to their Canadian subsidiary, Acadia Fisheries in Nova Scotia where she operated from Mulgrave, NS for a few years before being brought back to the UK.
1968: She arrived initially at Fleetwood as ACADIA SNOWBIRD but was quickly renamed BOSTON HARRIER and registered at Lowestoft (LT76).
She worked for some time from Fleetwood on the Irish Sea sole fishery before being transferred to Lowestoft.
1972: Sold to Putford Fisheries of Lowestoft and renamed EASTLEIGH.
1976: Scrapped.
