If you would like to contact the FFI website admin you can use the following email address info@fleetwood-fishing-industry.co.uk

We are always looking for fresh information or pictures on any past and present Fleetwood trawlers. The best information always comes from the people who work or have worked in the fishing industry and the stories those people could tell us would make us smile with the funny antics they have got up to aboard the trawlers or on the dockside. Some stories of loss and unfortunate incidents could also make us sit back and realize how they put their lives on the line so we could all eat.

So again if you have any information, pictures or stories you would like to share with us please email us at info@fleetwood-fishing-industry.co.uk

All information will be greatly received.

If you see any pages that appear broken or missing information please let us know.

Thanks
Alan Duggan

Hi Alan,

I recently came back to the site where I written a short memory passage on my days in the Navigation school. I noticed there was a cooment at the end from a guy called Ron Spencer, who I did in fact work with in the UK. Would you have his email address, or how do I contact him or reply to his comment.

I have also lost my login and password, how can I find them or get new ones..best regards, John

Hi Alan, Its been a while since i have visited the “Bosun’s Watch” and what a surprise i got, I was going to show my nephew some photos i had sent to Jim’s site the Bosuns Watch, but it seems that you are the now Proud Owner of the Fleetwood Trawlers site.

Has the old Bosuns Watch (and the photos) gone. I used to sail out of Fleetwood in the early sixties and still get nostalgic at the Trawler photos.

cheers
John

Hello John,

The old site for the bosuns watch has been revamped and is available here, http://www.fleetwood-trawlers.info/

Jim still runs the Bosun site which looks after the Sail and Steam era. This site that i look after is for the Motor vessels.

Thanks Alan

HI JIm,

I am trying to find pictures of the fisherman’s reunion only I can’t seem to find them this time. I have seen them before so know they are here somewhere. Is there any chance you can send me the link?

Regards,

Bob

Have just bought a silver pocket watch inscribed W.MARSHALL/ S.T.Stoic/ To Commemorate 10th JULY 1917. Could this be connected with the ST Stoic sunk by U boat?

Alan Duggan

Hi Alan,

Was just wondering if you could tell me if there was a COD WAR during the 1960s? I know of three only! 1st in the late 1950s and 2nd in the early 1970s and 3rd in the mid 1970s! Could you tell me if there was EVER a 4th COD WAR during the 1960s? I realise that some English ships must have been in the waters in that area during the 1960s but were they ever in CONFLICT with ICELAND at all?
Many thanks for your time.
Alan

Alan

Please could you see if you have any information on my father James Liddell (Jimmy)
He passed away on the 31/01/1979 when i was 3 months old so i never knew him and i would like to find out more about him. He was the enginer onboard the Boston Explorer before it was sold in 1978-79

Many Thanks
