History
1965: Owned by Terence W. Poland & Patrick Poland Workington registered at Workington WO24.
1967: Owned by John B Newberry Cockermouth and registered at Workington WO 24.
28.08.1968: On passage Fleetwood – Hull (Sk. Ken Dowuns)(Owner Bill McCreadie). Developed engine trouble and sprung a leak NE of Rathlin. In North Channel, stern gland leaking and weather deteriorating but pumps coping for around 3 hours. Leak worsened and resorted to buckets for baling. Ran into fog and reduced speed, leak increased and rendered engine useless. Flares sent up. American submarine out of Holy Loch stopped and rendered assistance. Portrush lifeboat attended and towed the casualty into Ballycastle.
29.08.2022: BOT places detention order on Early Mist due to its “….sinking condition”. Ballycastle Fire Brigade attended between 3am and 5am to control flooding as tide rose, whilst lying at berth. All food destroyed by rising water but the people of Ballycastle helped the crew by providing meals free of charge.
31.08.1968: At moorings in Ballycastle Harbour and battered by heavy seas. Broke free of moorings and drifted in the direction of the White Rocks.
02.09.1968: Early Mist sighted 2 miles of Torr Head by Fleetwood trawler Ferrard (Forards???) and towed into Larne.
1970: Owned by William W. McCreadie, Hull, registered at Fleetwood (FD270).
