Hello. My father was a dental surgeon practising in Fleetwood for several years and we lived on Laidleys Walk. I remember climbing on wrecks beached at Knott End, but nothing of them remain to this day. Do you have any information regarding these?

I attended Stella Maris Convent which fortunately for me closed, afterwhich I attended Cardinal Allen where I made many interesting “friends” much to my mother’s consternation!!!

I am now residing in Bolton and would appreciate any information regarding these hulks as I always imagined they were sailing ships rather than trawlers. Such is imagination.

    Regards. Deborah Cameron. (Nee Hall)

    Hello Deborah,

The only images of hulks we have on this site are listed here http://www.fleetwood-fishing-industry.co.uk/fleetwood-wrecks/

I took them in the middle of 2008, they are on Fleetwood Marsh. No images of hulks on Knott End im afraid.

Hello Deborah, how far are you going back ?as a boy i went pond fishing over Wyre and some times when we were waiting for the ferry we played on a wreck near the slipway it was an old cabin cruiser but that was back in the early 1960′s.Their was another wreck on Pilling sands further round from Knott End of the trawler HAMOAZE which ended up their after the tow rope snaped whilst being towed too Glasson Docks by the NORTHFLEET and that was in the late 1960′s.
