As im sure many of you are aware Facebook is a huge success and with millions of people using this service daily we thought it was a good idea to create a group for people to join.
If you are a member of facebook click the following link to view the group, Fleetwood Maritime Heritage Trust. If you do not have an account on facebook its free to join and will only take a few minutes to register.
The group is open for anyone to join and will allow us to keep in touch with all group members easily and notify them of events and updates. Also you can invite your friends into the group aswell.
I hope to see you all on facebook.
Good Evening,
If this is not your first visit to the website im sure you have noticed the new layout. If this is your first visit welcome and i hope you find the site usefull.
We have decided to change to this layout as we felt the last one was rather clumped together with 2 columns either side of the main information in the middle. This one allows more space for the main information due to only having one column on the right hand side.
If you find any errors or if you have any feedback on the new design please feel free to leave us a comment. After all the site is here for you !
We have also applied this change to our sister site aswell, The Bosun’s Watch
Thanks
Alan Duggan
We now have forums available.
The forums are there for people to share information on Fleetwood’s Maritime history. Or if you are looking for information why not ask on the forums as i am sure people will be happy to help out in anyway they can.
So head on over to the forums and signup and start to share information on Fleetwood’s Maritime Past.
I have updated the Fleetwood Docks page. I have added images of the new pontoons that are being built within the main dock where the remaining Fleetwood fishing vessels tie up. Not alot of room left for them anymore. Also my worry is the Jacinta, if she leaves the dock will she be able to get back in ?
Also i have added two new categories to the gallery one for Fleetwood Steam Trawlers and one for Fleetwood Sail Trawlers. They will be maintained by Jim Porter who runs our sister site The Bosun’s Watch.
Also dont forget to check the updates and additions pages for updates on vessels aswell as new additions.
Hello Everyone,
First of all i hope you have had a great Christmas and New Year. Unfortunately for most of us its back to the daily grind of work and the normality of family life without the presents and unhealthy food and drink. It will soon be Christmas again !
Ok, since the New Year i have been working through some more updates on the trawlers we have listed on the site. So far i have managed to update 16 vessels. There will be plenty more updates to come throughout the year aswell as new vessels being added to the site.

Hello Everyone,
Just a quick update on whats happening with the site. I have been working through the vessels listed on the site so far and started to look for any new information on them since we added them to the site. This is the reason for no new vessels being added within the last week. As soon as i have been through the vessels i will look into adding any vessels we have found.
To see what vessels have changed you can view the updates by clicking here.
Also i will be adding some images to the gallery given to me by William McCalpine. The photos are of the fishing grounds in Norway and Greenland.
Hello Everyone,
In the middle of the week i was contacted by Chris Giblin a diver who will be involved in ecological monotoring of the Boston Seafire. Chris said that within a week of the Seafire being on the sea floor, fish species in numbers have already been recorded inside his surveys.
Chris will be monitoring the wreck every two weeks for the next year and has said he will keep me updated.
Also in his last email to me this week he sent me some fantastic underwater images of the Seafire. I have added them to the Gallery which can be found here.
