Watch the guy build this in the 60′s from the hull upwards, most he made by himself or had do as favours of other people, his name was Russian Dick what a character.
Remember him coming into the Quay one day,he had steamed all the way too the prawn ground had one tow then back in the 12 hour tide and on his deck was the biggest bag of prawns that any of the big boats would be proud of it was that heavy is lifting gear wouldn’t lift it high enough for him to open the cod end, lucky for him their was a couple of the lads on the quay that gave him a hand.
The trust is run by volunteers and is a none profit organisation. All donations are VERY welcome and will be put towards helping pay for server costs as well as helping fund any costs that may be needed for us to attend shows and events.

Interesting story Tony he does sound like a character.
Its a shame I cannot do him justice at the moment as information on this vessel is hard to find.
Hopefully soon I will get more details soon.

Hello again Tony. It sounds like his hard work in rebuilding the vessel was being repaid to him. Hopefully his look continued.
I remember Russian Dick, Alan.
I couldn’t tell you anything about him though.
