65th anniversary of the D Day landings
Events are taking place in Normandy to mark the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Some 130,000 allied troops took part in the 1944 landings.
Many countries lost many men on the beaches of Normandy. Over 4000 British soldiers and over 9000 American soldeirs are laid to rest in the Normandy cemetery.
So lets take a moment and remember the servicemen and civilians who lost there lives 65 years ago.
