it! was spring 1972 off iceland and we just couldnt catch fish!Roy Belcher was skipper and knew something was wrong. We had changed trawls 2 or3 times, measured everything to no avail anyway one afternoon towing eaqst horns he suddenly said ” jim, your bosun,go and get a shackle pin and a ball of twine and take it on the boat deck”we dipped the after ballast tank and found it o be empty so filled it with the donkey pipe and apparently ppt the screw 3 foot deeper in the waer .when we hauled we didnt look back fih fish fish,i remembered this when i had a boat of my own and ALWAYS kept the stern down good old Roy
