History

December 05 1975: Launched by Beverley Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd, Beverley (Yd.No.1564). Last of Marr’s ships to be built at Beverley.
June 1976: Completed.
1982: Moved to Hull.
January 27 1984: Ingress of water onto factory deck. CASSAMANDA (SH128) (Skipper/owner Dave Bevan) Connected and commenced tow to Scarborough. Refused entry by port officials. Vessel stranded and capsized at Scarborough. All crew members where rescued by helicopter.
March 1984: Salvaged and sold to Marine Partners Ltd, Middlesbrough as a CTL.
March 1985: Sold to S & S (Sunderland) Marine Ltd, Sunderland in damaged condition for repair.
1996: Decommissioned.

Crew members from Fleetwood and Poulton who were aboard NAVENA when she was stranded at Scarborough.

    Yes I was on the Navena at the time, thank goodness for the RAF / coastguard rescue team.
    I have a colour picture of her on the beach, I will see if I can dig it out.

    Hello Neil, my uncle is William Mcalpine who was aboard the Navena with you. He never spoke of the accident. I have the cutting from the paper that was given to me by his daughter, my cousin.
