In 1966 i remember going aboard the Red Rose and was astonished that there was a Television, the picture was all wavy and i felt sea sick watching it (and we were still in the dock) We set off on my first big trip to sea but had to turn back because of engine trouble, i on the otherhand was glad because i was sea sick none stop for the 24 hours or so that we were at sea and was glad to be back. I never went out on the big trawlers again and opted to pleasure trip with inshore fishing on the small boats with my uncles/family. All the trawlers looked impressive and for a 9 year old at that time to experience life as it was, will stay with me forever.
