My grandfather was John George Clarkson Crewdson (often known as Jack). He was skipper of several Marr trawlers setting sail from Hull in ?? 1958 - 1970 approximately. Anyone remember him?

The J in J Marr & Son refers to Joseph not James. Joseph was the father of James Herbert (2nd son) The son refers to my grandfather Joseph Arthur (1st son). J Marr & Son was set up in 1902 by Ann Marr (Joseph's wife & James Herbert Marr. The offices were at the old custom house on Dock Street before moving to 228 Dock Street. My grandfather was Chairman of J Marr & Son from 1916 to 1924 when founded the Dinas Steam trawling company Limited. he then left J Marr to manage the Dinas company.
